Pouch for crochet hooks and notions. Idea and pattern from Kids Crochet by Kelli Ronci. I made a few changes: used a different type of yarn and hook and changed the dimensions slightly. Because I couldn’t find small enough buttons to slip through the stitches, I crocheted buttonholes.
Yarn: Schachenmayr nomotta Catania (100% mercerized cotton) in MC005.
Hook: 3.5 mm
Work started: 2 May 2006
Work finished: 4 May 2006
I bought the yarn at Tesco, which has a really bad selection of yarns. This was practically the only cotton yarn there, otherwise it’s all acrylic and acrylic blends. I’m not a great fan of variegated yarns, but this was not too bad and the project wasn’t very important.
The stitches were quite tight and the piece curled a little at the corners, but after blocking it with a wet towel it turned out ok.
